Practical overview
When it fits

Who it is for
- People who prefer a terminal interface for EVM wallet tasks.
- Users managing multiple EVM accounts or custom RPC networks.
- Developers or wallet users who need to approve supported WalletConnect v2 requests from a CLI.
Documented uses
- Create or manage wallet accounts and import a mnemonic phrase or private key.
- Switch between accounts and configured EVM chains.
- Send native coins or ERC-20 tokens and review EIP-1559 gas fields.
- Approve supported WalletConnect sessions and requests.
Requirements & limits
The repository documents global installation through npm, Yarn or pnpm and identifies the project as MIT-licensed.
- The interface is a CLI built with Node.js and Ink rather than a graphical wallet.
- Wallet data is stored encrypted on disk, but the project notes that local machine compromise can still expose funds.
- WalletConnect typed-data methods and eth_sendRawTransaction are listed as unsupported.
- The project states that it has no formal security audit.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
