Requirements & limits

The project is published as a public GitHub repository under the Apache-2.0 license. Its README documents self-hosted setup rather than a hosted service.

  • Local setup requires Python 3.12 or later and Node.js 18 or later; Docker and Docker Compose are recommended.
  • The listed application stack includes FastAPI, React, PostgreSQL, Redis, Milvus and MinIO.
  • Model, web-search and other integrations require configuration through environment variables and API keys where used.
  • The project describes nutrition values from meal text or images as estimates.
  • Image uploads are documented with a limit of four images, up to 10 MB each, for agent and diet-record scenarios.

Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
