Requirements & limits
The repository says the main branch is deployed at https://lab.stellar.org. The project is open source under Apache-2.0.
- Self-hosting requires Node.js 22.22.0 or later and pnpm 10.15.1 or later.
- The application uses Next.js, React and TypeScript, with TanStack React Query and Zustand also listed in its stack.
- WalletConnect is offered on mainnet and testnet; local testing requires HTTPS and an origin allowed by the Reown project.
- Hardware-wallet testing requires an HTTPS connection for U2F.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Run Stellar Lab locally for development
Start the application’s development server from its repository.
Before you start
- Node.js 22.22.0 or later
- pnpm 10.15.1 or later
Steps
Obtain the Stellar Lab repository.
Run
pnpm devfrom the project.
Expected outcome
The repository’s documented development command starts the application.
Guide limitations
- Before each development run, the Lab automatically fetches Stellar network limits for Mainnet, Testnet and Futurenet.
- WalletConnect local testing requires an HTTPS origin and an origin permitted by the Reown project.
Build and run a production version
Create the documented standalone production build and start it locally.
Before you start
- Node.js 22.22.0 or later
- pnpm 10.15.1 or later
- A local copy of the Stellar Lab repository
Steps
Run
pnpm build.Run
pnpm startto run the production build locally.
Expected outcome
The app is built in Next.js standalone output format and can be run locally.
Guide limitations
- For deployment, the repository says to copy
build/statictobuild/standalone/public/_next/static; the contents ofbuild/standalonecan then be distributed and run withnode server.js.
