Practical overview
When it fits
Use it when you need a JavaScript-based mining interface and can configure a pool endpoint and an algorithm supported by that pool.
Who it is for
- People configuring a browser-based JavaScript miner for a compatible Stratum pool.
- HTML developers who want to embed pool and algorithm settings in a web page.
- Operators evaluating a multi-worker deployment who need to account for the number of pool connections.
Documented uses
- Configure a pool endpoint and algorithm in a miner embed.
- Review which listed algorithm families and example coin networks may match a pool.
- Plan worker naming and pool connection load for a larger deployment.
Requirements & limits
- The selected pool must support the algorithm configured in the embed.
- The README provides examples with pool and algorithm values; configuration is not evidence that a pool connection succeeds.
- Many distinct worker names sharing a wallet create separate pool connections; the README recommends a custom frontend and reward-calculation setup for 100 or more worker names.
- The repository identifies an MIT license and HTML as its primary language.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Set a pool and algorithm in the miner embed
Prepare the documented script-embed settings for a supported pool and algorithm.
Before you start
- An HTML file in which to edit the miner embed.
- A supported Stratum pool address and port.
- The algorithm parameter required for that pool.
Steps
Choose the algorithm-specific example in the repository README that matches the pool’s supported algorithm.
Replace the example pool host and port with the selected pool endpoint.
Set the example’s algorithm parameter, such as ?algo=cn/r or ?algo=chukwa.
Use the documented script embed in the HTML page.
Expected outcome
An HTML embed configured with a pool endpoint and algorithm parameter, ready for the next stage of use.
Guide limitations
- The README examples do not verify that a selected pool or coin remains available or accepts the configuration.
- The steps describe configuration only; they do not establish a successful mining session.
