Sol Indexer

Sol Indexer is an open-source Rust application that ingests Solana transaction data from Yellowstone Geyser gRPC, local files or partial RPC backfill, parses selected protocol activity into structured events, and stores records in PostgreSQL. It also includes a Telegram alert adapter for high-value transactions.

Understand the project

Practical overview

When it fits

Use it when you need a self-hosted Solana ingestion and parsing pipeline that turns supported transaction activity into PostgreSQL records for analytics or monitoring.

Who it is for

  • Developers building Solana transaction analytics pipelines
  • Teams monitoring activity across supported protocols
  • Operators who want a self-hosted, PostgreSQL-backed source of indexed Solana events

Documented uses

  • Ingest live Solana transaction data through Yellowstone Geyser gRPC.
  • Replay local transaction files for testing or debugging.
  • Parse Jupiter swaps, Raydium activity, Pump.fun trades and SPL Token operations.
  • Store structured swaps, trades and transfers in PostgreSQL.
  • Route high-value transaction alerts to Telegram.

Requirements & limits

The repository is public and identifies the project as MIT-licensed.

  • The application is self-hosted and requires Rust, Docker and Docker Compose.
  • Live streaming uses Yellowstone Geyser gRPC; local-file replay is also documented.
  • RPC backfill is partial and experimental.
  • The built-in protocol parsers cover Jupiter, Raydium, Pump.fun and SPL Token activity.
  • Telegram alert configuration uses a bot token and chat ID.

Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

Source-based practical guide

Set up the indexer and database

Prepare the documented local environment and database migrations before launching Sol Indexer.

Before you start

  • Rust 1.75 or later
  • Docker and Docker Compose
  • A Solana RPC or gRPC URL
  • A configured .env file with source, connection and database settings

Steps

  1. Clone the repository and enter its project directory.

  2. Create a .env file with the selected source type and the required RPC, gRPC and database connection settings.

  3. Start the database with docker-compose up -d.

  4. Install sqlx-cli and run sqlx migrate run.

Expected outcome

The database is running and the documented SQL migrations have been applied, ready for the indexer launch stage.

Guide limitations

  • This setup guide does not verify a successful launch or ingestion.
  • RPC historical backfill is described as partial and experimental.
