Practical overview
When it fits
Use Tenderly CLI when a smart-contract workflow needs command-line project initialization, public-network contract submission, verification preparation or execution-focused monitoring and error tracking.
Who it is for
- Ethereum smart-contract developers working from a command line.
- Teams that need to connect local projects with Tenderly Dashboard projects.
- Hardhat or Foundry users following Tenderly’s contract-verification workflows.
Documented uses
- Debug and track smart-contract execution.
- Prepare a local project for Tenderly Dashboard integration.
- Add contracts deployed to public networks to a Tenderly project.
- Upload and verify smart-contract information.
- Check the installed CLI version.
Requirements & limits
The repository documents installation paths for macOS, Linux and Windows. Login supports email or Tenderly access-key authentication; the CLI authenticates against a Tenderly Dashboard.
- A Tenderly Dashboard connection is part of the documented login and initialization flow.
- The initialization example requires a deployments directory; the README shows Hardhat artifact persistence as one way to create it.
- The contracts push command is limited to contracts deployed to a public network.
- Hardhat users are directed to Tenderly’s separate Hardhat verification documentation rather than the push command for that workflow.
- The repository is public and licensed under GPL-3.0.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
