Practical overview
When it fits
Use it when an on-chain change needs to be expressed as a task and tested or simulated before execution.
Who it is for
- Developers preparing on-chain operations for EVM chains.
- Task authors who need to configure network-specific changes and rehearse Safe operations.
Documented uses
- Create a task from an interactive prompt and complete its generated files.
- Set task-specific chain, template, address and state-override configuration.
- Run Solidity tests and simulate single or nested Safe operations before execution.
Requirements & limits
- The documented quick start requires local setup and the repository-pinned mise workflow.
- Task simulation uses an .env file and requires a sufficiently high TENDERLY_GAS setting.
- The README's documented task examples include Ethereum mainnet and Sepolia; the description characterizes the tool for EVM chains.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Create and simulate a task
Set up a task directory, configure it, and run its documented simulation command.
Before you start
- A local checkout of the Superchain Ops repository.
- A shell and the repository's pinned development dependencies, installed using its install-mise.sh script.
- A task configuration, including a suitable TENDERLY_GAS value in the generated .env file.
Steps
From src/, run ./script/install-mise.sh and follow its shell activation instructions; then run mise activate, mise trust ../mise.toml, mise install, and just --justfile ../justfile install.
From src/, run just new task and follow the interactive prompts to create a task directory.
Complete the generated files' TODOs, set TENDERLY_GAS in the task's .env, and configure the task's config.toml with its chain, template, and any needed addresses or state overrides.
From the task directory, run just --dotenv-path $(pwd)/.env simulate, adding child-safe names when simulating nested Safe operations.
Expected outcome
A task is created and the documented simulation command is run for its configured Safe operation.
Guide limitations
- The README does not provide a specific TENDERLY_GAS value; it must be high enough for the task simulation.
- The repository warns against upgrading mise beyond its allowed versions and requires its install-mise.sh script.
- The guide documents task simulation, not a subsequent execution procedure.
