Sprix Sage Router

Sprix Sage Router is a Python research implementation that selects among SELF, COLLABORATE and HANDOFF routes for in-flight tasks in open A2A agent networks. It evaluates execution progress, reusable artifacts, agent capability and task constraints to rank feasible assignments.

Understand the project

Practical overview

When it fits

Use it when an A2A task needs a routing decision after execution has begun and the decision should account for progress, remaining work, capability and constraints.

Who it is for

  • Developers building A2A agent orchestration systems
  • Researchers studying task routing and checkpoint-aware reconfiguration in multi-agent systems

Documented uses

  • Choose whether an in-flight task should stay with its incumbent agent, add collaborators or transfer to a peer.
  • Account for completed requirements and artifact portability when evaluating a change of agent ownership.
  • Compare candidate assignments and schedules against permissions, budget and deadline constraints.
  • Record execution outcomes and export the router's learned state.

Requirements & limits

The repository is public and open source under the MIT license. The README specifies Python 3.10 or later and no runtime dependencies, and labels the project a research preview.

  • The three modes preserve different ownership arrangements: SELF retains the incumbent, COLLABORATE keeps incumbent ownership, and HANDOFF transfers full ownership.
  • The router considers completed work, artifact portability and observed partial quality when estimating what remains after rerouting.
  • The README describes permission-first eligibility filtering and budget- and deadline-constrained route evaluation.
  • The reference implementation is documented as having no runtime dependencies beyond Python 3.10 or later.

Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

Source-based practical guide

Set up and run the reference demo

Clone the repository and invoke its documented demo entry point.

Before you start

  • Python 3.10 or later
  • Git

Steps

  1. Clone the repository: git clone https://github.com/wang2122/sprix-sage-router.git

  2. Change into the repository directory: cd sprix-sage-router

  3. Run the demo with: python demo.py

Expected outcome

The documented demo entry point is invoked from the cloned repository.

Guide limitations

  • The README documents these setup and invocation steps but does not specify the demo's output.
