Practical overview
When it fits
Use it when you need a self-hosted Solana process that periodically checks portfolio balance and can restore a configured allocation through swaps.
Who it is for
- Solana users managing SOL and SPL-token allocations
- Developers seeking a self-hosted trading-bot codebase
- Operators wanting configurable, scheduled rebalancing checks
Documented uses
- Restore a target balance between SOL and SPL tokens
- Execute Jupiter-routed swaps when portfolio imbalance passes a threshold
- Test a strategy in simulation mode before enabling real trading
- Adjust slippage, timing, trade minimums and target allocation
Requirements & limits
The project is presented as a public GitHub repository with an MIT license. Documented operation requires Node.js 20 or later and a Solana RPC endpoint; real trading also requires a funded wallet.
- It is specific to Solana and Jupiter integrations.
- The default documented target allocation is 50/50, with configurable rebalance percentage and tolerance.
- Simulation mode is available through ENABLE_TRADING=false.
- Wallet credentials can be loaded from a keypair file or BIP39 mnemonic.
- Real swaps include documented slippage and priority-fee settings.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Set up the Solana Market Maker Bot
Prepare the repository and environment for running the documented bot.
Before you start
- Node.js version 20.x or later
- A funded Solana wallet with SOL and SPL tokens
- A Solana RPC endpoint
- The repository URL
Steps
Clone the repository and change into its directory.
Install dependencies with npm install.
Copy .env.example to .env.
Fill in SOLANA_RPC_ENDPOINT and provide a keypair file, mnemonic, or the documented default keypair location.
Leave ENABLE_TRADING unset or set it to a non-true value for simulation mode; set it to true only when real swaps are intended.
Expected outcome
The application is configured for development or simulation use, with the documented option to enable real swaps.
Guide limitations
- The evidence documents setup but does not verify a successful run.
- A funded wallet is required by the project requirements, and real trading executes swaps.
- The project-specific configuration interface beyond the documented environment variables is not shown in full.
