Practical overview
When it fits
Use Simpleos when you want an EOSIO desktop interface and wallet, or when you need to build its desktop application or frontend from the public repository.
Who it is for
- People seeking a desktop interface and wallet for EOSIO.
- Developers building the desktop application or compiling its Angular frontend.
Documented uses
- Use Simpleos as an EOSIO blockchain interface and wallet.
- Build a desktop application package for Windows, Linux or macOS.
- Compile the Angular frontend separately from the desktop shell.
Requirements & limits
- The README requires Bun commands for the documented build workflows.
- Desktop package formats vary by operating system.
- The frontend-only build excludes the Tauri desktop shell.
- Self-built applications trust the same signed releases for updates, but cannot publish updates themselves.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

Before you start
