Practical overview

When it fits

Use it when a popular theme has generated many claims but you need a structured route from demand and supply-chain constraints to candidate research leads and evidence checks.

Who it is for

  • Investors who want a repeatable first-pass process for researching a market theme.
  • Researchers comparing candidate companies’ supply-chain positions and supporting evidence.
  • Users examining fund directions through the underlying industry segments and holdings that need verification.

Documented uses

  • Turn a broad market theme into a supply-chain map and a shortlist of constrained or hard-to-substitute links.
  • Compare candidate companies by their position in the chain and evidence such as disclosures, customers and capacity.
  • Organize follow-up diligence around financial reports, risks and missing evidence.
  • Trace a theme to fund directions and identify relevant holdings to verify.

Requirements & limits

The repository is public and MIT-licensed. Installation instructions are provided for Codex and Claude Code. Current-source research depends on the selected agent client’s own search, browser or announcement-data tools; the skill does not include a live market-data service or data account.

  • The skill supplies a research method, while source access comes from the agent client and its tools.
  • Research does not require Python; Python 3 is specified for the repository’s separate structure-checking script.
  • The repository describes the output as research support and leaves investment decisions to the user.
  • The README reports different verification scopes for Codex and Claude Code; it does not claim end-to-end validation across all clients, models or data sources.

Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

Source-based practical guide

Install Serenity Skill in Codex or Claude Code

Copy the skill files into a supported client’s user-level skill directory so the client can discover and invoke it.

Before you start

  • A Codex or Claude Code installation that can read Agent Skill files.
  • A terminal and a local copy of the repository, obtained by cloning it or downloading and extracting its ZIP.

Steps

  1. Enter the repository directory containing SKILL.md.

  2. For Codex, create $HOME/.agents/skills/serenity-skill and copy SKILL.md, LICENSE, references, assets, examples and agents into it; for Claude Code, use $HOME/.claude/skills/serenity-skill.

  3. Open a new client session and confirm that the client can find and invoke serenity-skill.

Expected outcome

The skill files are placed in the documented user-level directory for the selected client and are ready for the client to discover.

Guide limitations

  • Research using current information requires the client’s own web search, browser or announcement-data tools.
  • The repository reports a Codex CLI use with offline materials; Claude Code’s directory and package structure were checked, but model invocation was not tested.
  • Installation instructions for other compatible clients depend on each client’s documentation.
