Practical overview
When it fits
Use Nexth when beginning an Ethereum web application and you want a Next.js frontend with wallet and sign-in tooling alongside a selectable Hardhat or Foundry project structure.
Who it is for
- Developers building an Ethereum web app with a Next.js frontend.
- Teams that want wallet connectivity or SIWE sign-in in their app.
- Builders who want to pair a frontend with either Hardhat or Foundry project scaffolding.
Documented uses
- Start an Ethereum dApp frontend using Next.js and documented wallet libraries.
- Add SIWE sign-in as part of a wallet-connected web app.
- Choose a Hardhat or Foundry project package and remove the unused framework's configuration.
Requirements & limits
The repository is public and identifies its license as MIT.
- Nexth provides separate Hardhat and Foundry packages; the README instructs users to keep one and remove the other framework's folder and Wagmi plugin.
- The listed frontend stack includes Viem, Wagmi, Web3Modal, and SIWE, with Tailwind and daisyUI for styling.
- The README lists npm run dev and yarn dev as development commands and links to a Vercel deployment flow.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Select Hardhat or Foundry in the starter project
Configure the repository to use one documented contract framework package.
Before you start
- A copy of the Nexth repository.
- Choose either Hardhat or Foundry.
Steps
Delete the package folder for the framework you will not use: packages/hardhat/ or packages/foundry/.
Open packages/app/wagmi.config.ts and remove the plugin configuration for the framework you removed.
Expected outcome
The repository retains the selected framework package and removes the other framework's plugin configuration from the app's Wagmi config.
Guide limitations
- The README documents framework selection and configuration cleanup, not contract deployment or a complete application workflow.
- Deployment entries shown in the README are sample configuration and may need project-specific changes.
