Understand the project

Practical overview

When it fits

Use it when an application needs a single TypeScript or JavaScript integration layer for documented wallet operations across several blockchain ecosystems.

Who it is for

  • Developers integrating wallet functionality into cryptocurrency applications
  • Teams building multichain asset-management tools
  • TypeScript or JavaScript developers working with supported blockchain networks

Documented uses

  • Create wallets from network-specific configurations
  • Generate mnemonics and derive addresses
  • Retrieve native-coin and token balances
  • Transfer assets on documented networks
  • Read transaction and token information

Requirements & limits

The repository is public and identifies the project as MIT licensed. Installation is documented through npm and Yarn. The supplied materials do not document pricing or account requirements.

  • Network coverage includes Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, Tron and Waves, with EVM-compatible support described for Binance Smart Chain, Polygon and Avalanche.
  • Some balance operations require an RPC URL, while Bitcoin operations use a selected Bitcoin network value.
  • The README documents transfers for Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, Waves and Tron, and smart-contract calls for Ethereum, Waves and Tron.
  • Wallet creation returns private-key and mnemonic fields in the documented example, making secret handling an important integration concern.
  • The project is written in TypeScript and can be loaded from JavaScript or imported into TypeScript.

Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

Source-based practical guide

Install the wallet library and import it

Add the package to a JavaScript or TypeScript project and load the library.

Before you start

  • A JavaScript or TypeScript project
  • npm or Yarn

Steps

  1. Install the package with npm using the command below, or with Yarn using yarn add multichain-crypto-wallet.

    Documented command
    npm install multichain-crypto-wallet
  2. Load it in JavaScript with require('multichain-crypto-wallet').

  3. Import it in TypeScript with import * as multichainWallet from 'multichain-crypto-wallet'.

Expected outcome

The project has the library installed and loaded for access to its documented wallet methods.

Guide limitations

  • This guide covers installation and importing only; it does not document a completed wallet operation.
  • The package documentation lists network-specific parameters for later method calls.
Source-based practical guide

Create a network-specific wallet

Create a wallet object using one of the documented network configurations.

Before you start

  • The installed multichain-crypto-wallet package
  • A JavaScript or TypeScript environment
  • A supported network value such as ethereum, bitcoin, solana, waves or tron

Steps

  1. Call createWallet with a network value.

  2. For Ethereum, optionally provide a derivation path such as m/44'/60'/0'/0/0; for Bitcoin, use the Bitcoin path and choose bitcoin or bitcoin-testnet.

  3. For Solana, use the documented Solana derivation path; for Waves, provide a cluster such as testnet or mainnet; for Tron, provide the tron network value.

  4. Read the returned wallet fields shown in the documentation, including address, privateKey and mnemonic.

Expected outcome

The method returns a wallet object containing an address, private key and mnemonic in the documented examples.

Guide limitations

  • The examples expose sensitive wallet material in the returned object; the documentation does not specify a storage design.
  • The README documents selected network configurations, not every possible chain or operational environment.
