Requirements & limits
Minestudio is a public, open-source Python project under the MIT license. It is documented for self-hosted Linux-oriented use and is available through PyPI or installation from the Git repository.
- Minecraft focus: the simulator and documented workflows are built around Minecraft and MineRL.
- Environment requirements: setup calls for Python 3.10 or later and JDK 8.
- Rendering: simulator use may require VirtualGL or Xvfb.
- Training coverage: the framework includes both offline pre-training and online reinforcement learning.
- Inference scale: the documented inference component uses Ray for parallelized and distributed workflows.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
