Practical overview
When it fits
Use it when a Logseq Markdown graph needs local semantic indexing, link maintenance or structured access for an AI agent while keeping Markdown files on disk as the knowledge authority.
Who it is for
- People maintaining Logseq OG knowledge graphs as local Markdown.
- Developers building agent workflows around local notes.
- Teams or individuals seeking self-hosted indexing and Markdown maintenance.
Documented uses
- Semantically index Logseq Markdown in the background.
- Maintain links across a Markdown knowledge graph.
- Expose indexed local knowledge to MCP-capable agents.
- Provide CLI access to the local knowledge-management daemon.
Requirements & limits
The repository is public and licensed under Apache-2.0. The documented quick start requires Python 3.12 or newer and a Logseq OG graph.
- Logseq OG is the documented target environment.
- The project does not require a specific graph database, vector database, embedding model or retrieval algorithm.
- The repository describes no cloud dependency and no Logseq API dependency.
- MCP integration is available, but the individual tools or operations are not enumerated in the supplied documentation.
- Use with a non-Logseq Markdown directory is marked Experimental rather than established support.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Start the local Matryca Plumber interface
Open the documented UI flow and prepare a cloned Logseq OG graph for the engine.
Before you start
- Python 3.12 or newer
- A Logseq OG graph
- The Matryca Plumber package accessible through uvx
Steps
Run
uvx matryca-plumber status.Open the local interface at
http://127.0.0.1:8500.Select a cloned Logseq graph.
Review the pre-flight checks.
Start the engine when ready.
Expected outcome
The documented local UI flow is opened with the selected graph prepared for engine startup.
Guide limitations
- The evidence documents the startup flow, not a completed indexing or agent-retrieval session.
- Support for arbitrary non-Logseq Markdown directories is experimental.
