JevChat-Windows

JevChat-Windows is a Windows desktop assistant that reads supported chat windows with local offline OCR, assesses conversation intent and emotion through Jev, and presents three language-model-drafted replies. Users can insert a suggestion into the chat input field, but sending is always manual.

Understand the project

Practical overview

When it fits

Use it when a supported chat window is open and you want assistance composing a response while retaining control over edits and sending.

Who it is for

  • Windows users who want model-generated reply options for WeChat or KakaoTalk conversations.
  • People who want to review and edit a suggested message before sending it.

Documented uses

  • Read incoming messages from a supported chat window using local OCR.
  • See an assessment of intent, possible needs, and tension alongside three ranked reply options.
  • Insert or copy a selected reply without automating the send action.
  • Choose a recipient for group-chat suggestions and include a plain-text mention prefix.
Before you choose

Requirements & limits

The packaged app requires Windows 10 version 1903 or later, or Windows 11, and two API keys. The documented download is a ZIP containing the executable and its supporting files; Python is not required for this route.

  • OCR and screen capture are described as local and offline, but selected conversation text is sent to the configured assessment and drafting services when analysis runs.
  • The app does not send messages automatically; users must review and send them themselves.
  • Recognition support is documented for WeChat and KakaoTalk; adapting another chat window is left to a user-maintained fork.
  • The packaged executable is unsigned and may trigger SmartScreen.
  • The README identifies the project as open source.
