Practical overview
When it fits
Use it when a Java application needs client interfaces for Huobi Spot API requests or WebSocket update subscriptions, and choose public or private clients according to the data required.
Who it is for
- Java developers building applications or tools that connect to Huobi Spot API services.
- Teams maintaining an integration based on an earlier SDK version and assessing the documented v3 migration.
Documented uses
- Request public market data, including candlestick records, through REST.
- Submit spot trading actions and access private account-related API functions.
- Subscribe to market, account, and order updates over WebSocket.
Requirements & limits
The repository is public and declares an Apache-2.0 license. The README specifies Java 8. Public Generic and Market clients do not require an API key; private API clients require one.
- The SDK separates public and private client categories; private functions require an API key.
- REST is documented for multiple client categories, while WebSocket support is listed for market and account clients; the SDK overview also describes market, account, and order update subscriptions.
- The README recommends v3 over v1 and v2 and points to migration instructions for existing integrations.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Set up a Java client for public market data
Create the documented market client and request recent BTC/USDT candlesticks.
Before you start
- Java 8
- The SDK source imported into a Java IDE such as IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse
Steps
Import the SDK source code into a Java IDE.
Create a MarketClient instance using HuobiOptions.
Build a candlestick request for symbol btcusdt, interval MIN1, and size 10.
Call getCandlestick with the request and read the returned candlestick records.
Expected outcome
The example requests and prints recent one-minute BTC/USDT candlestick data through the public market API.
Guide limitations
- This recipe covers a public market-data request only; private API access requires an API key.
- The repository example documents the request pattern, not a verified result or compatibility guarantee.
