Practical overview
When it fits
Use the client when you want Hive OS visibility and routine controls on supported ASICs while keeping the miner's existing firmware. Check the model-specific instructions before installation.
Who it is for
- ASIC mining operators who want to view and manage supported miners through Hive OS.
- Operators preparing multiple ASICs for connection to a Hive OS farm.
Documented uses
- Connect a supported ASIC miner to a Hive OS farm.
- View the miner in Hive OS and manage its wallet and pool settings.
- Restart or reboot a connected miner.
- Prepare a local-network bulk installation using the documented installer.
Requirements & limits
- The README lists supported models across several manufacturers, but installation methods differ by model.
- A FARM_HASH from the Hive OS farm is required to link an ASIC to the farm.
- A Flight Sheet must be created and applied to start mining.
- Some recent Bitmain firmware versions have defensive measures that the README says prevent installation; it gives model-series date cutoffs in its preparation instructions.
- Hiveon ASIC Firmware is a separate replacement-firmware product with additional tuning features on selected models.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Prepare an ASIC for Hive OS Client installation
Gather the Hive farm details and mining configuration the README requires before installing the client.
Before you start
- A Hive OS farm and its FARM_HASH, available in the farm's Settings tab.
- An ASIC model listed as supported by the repository.
- A Flight Sheet created in Hive OS.
Steps
Check the supported-model list and any model-specific notes in the README.
Retrieve the FARM_HASH from the farm's Settings tab.
Create a Flight Sheet and apply it to the miner to start hashing.
Expected outcome
The farm identifier and Flight Sheet are prepared for the model-specific client installation process.
Guide limitations
- The README describes different installation routes for different ASIC models; these preparation steps do not install the client.
- Some models are marked as needing testing or are directed to Hiveon ASIC Firmware.
