Practical overview
When it fits
Use it when building Solidity applications that need on-chain asset quotes through a shared interface, including lending markets, vaults and Euler Vault Kit integrations.
Who it is for
- Solidity developers integrating oracle-based asset valuation into DeFi applications.
- Builders of lending markets and vaults that need quotes between assets.
- Developers integrating price oracles with the Euler Vault Kit.
Documented uses
- Request the quote amount of one asset corresponding to a specified amount of another.
- Use oracle adapters for provider feeds, on-chain rates or time-weighted average prices.
- Retrieve separate bid and ask quote amounts where an integration needs sell and buy values.
- Install, compile and test the library in a Foundry development workflow.
Requirements & limits
The repository is public and specifies the GPL-2.0 license.
- Adapter choice depends on the pricing source and its parameters, such as feed, maximum staleness, confidence interval or TWAP window.
- The interface handles decimal conversion within adapters, allowing consumers to remain agnostic to provider-specific implementation details.
- Adapters are described as immutable and narrowly responsible for querying one pricing system and feed.
- Fork tests require an Ethereum RPC URL; the Redstone fork tests additionally require Foundry FFI to be enabled.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Install and compile Euler Price Oracles with Foundry
Add the repository to a Foundry project, or prepare a local checkout and compile its contracts.
Before you start
- A Foundry project and Foundry tooling for the install workflow.
- For the documented local workflow, Git and Foundry; Node.js dependencies are optional.
Steps
In a Foundry project, run
forge install euler-xyz/euler-price-oracle.For local development instead, clone
https://github.com/euler-xyz/euler-price-oracle.gitand enter the repository directory. In the local checkout, run
forge installto install Forge dependencies.Optionally run the command below for Node.js dependencies, then run
forge buildto compile the contracts.npm install
Expected outcome
The repository is installed in a Foundry project, or the local contracts are compiled with Foundry.
Guide limitations
- The documented installation and compilation steps do not configure a particular adapter or establish an application integration.
- Fork-test prerequisites are separate from this compile workflow.
Prepare the repository's fork tests
Configure the documented environment needed to run fork tests, or exclude fork tests from a test run.
Before you start
- Foundry tooling and the repository's dependencies.
- An Ethereum RPC URL to run fork tests.
Steps
Set
ETHEREUM_RPC_URLin the environment or in a.envfile.Run the repository's Foundry tests to include fork tests, or use
forge test --no-match-contract Forkto exclude them. For the Redstone fork tests, set
ffi = trueinfoundry.tomlbefore running them.
Expected outcome
The environment is configured for the repository's fork tests, or the command excludes fork-test contracts.
Guide limitations
- An Ethereum RPC URL is required for fork tests.
- Redstone fork tests invoke a script through Foundry's FFI cheatcode; FFI is not enabled by default.
- These are repository instructions, not a report of tests run.
