Practical overview
When it fits
Use Duino-Coin when you want to explore mining with listed boards such as Arduino, ESP and Raspberry Pi hardware, or install its client on a computer. Consult its separate development resources when building an application around the project.
Who it is for
- People interested in mining a cryptocurrency on microcontrollers or single-board computers.
- Computer users who want to install and launch the project's mining software.
- Developers exploring Duino-Coin's server source, API documentation or official libraries.
Documented uses
- Choose an installation route for a supported computer or Raspberry Pi.
- Prepare a Linux or Windows environment for the mining software.
- Explore project code and development resources for building Duino-Coin-related tools.
Requirements & limits
- The README lists different hardware families, but does not provide a setup recipe for every device.
- The release route is described as dependency-free; manual Linux and Windows installation requires Python-related setup.
- The repository identifies the coin as centralized and separately describes wrapped DUCO tokens on other networks.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Install Duino-Coin manually on Linux
Prepare the Linux software environment and repository for launching the PC miner.
Before you start
- A Linux system with apt
- Python 3, pip, Git and the listed Python imaging packages
Steps
Update apt and install python3, python3-pip, git, python3-pil and python3-pil.imagetk.
Clone the Duino-Coin repository and change into its directory.
Install the Python dependencies with the command below.
python3 -m pip install -r requirements.txt
Expected outcome
The README says the software is then ready to launch, giving `python3 PC_Miner.py` as an example.
Guide limitations
- These steps cover the documented Linux manual setup; no device-specific configuration is described here.
