Practical overview

When it fits

Consider it when you want to run the project’s configurable grid strategy through Docker Compose and can determine suitable settings for the chosen market. The README presents ranging conditions as a strategy context and cautions about liquidation risk for futures in extreme conditions.

Who it is for

  • People deploying a Binance grid-trading bot on a Docker-capable server
  • Traders who want to configure spot or futures grid parameters through Docker Compose environment variables

Documented uses

  • Configure a Binance trading pair and grid spacing.
  • Set order size, price precision, minimum quantity and one-sided order limits.
  • Provide Binance API credentials and configure API-domain or proxy settings.
  • Start the containerized service and inspect its logs.
Before you choose

Requirements & limits

The primary setup requires Docker and Docker Compose, plus Binance API credentials. The README instructs users to create a Binance account and generate API keys.

  • The README offers spot and futures modes through the PLATFORM setting.
  • Grid spacing, quantity, precision, minimum quantity and order limits are configurable per deployment.
  • Price precision and minimum order quantities differ by trading pair, according to the README.
  • API-domain and optional proxy settings are included for network configuration.
  • The project is a deployment template and bot, rather than an exchange interface.

Source-based practical guide

Configure and start the Docker Compose service

Set up the documented Binance grid-trading service and view its logs.

Before you start

  • Docker and Docker Compose installed
  • A Binance account and API key and secret
  • A server with access to the configured Binance API domain; proxy settings are available if needed

Steps

  1. Create a docker-compose.yml using the image and environment-variable structure shown in the README.

  2. Set PLATFORM to binance_spot or binance_future, then choose the SYMBOL and configure GAP_PERCENT, QUANTITY, MIN_PRICE, MIN_QTY and MAX_ORDERS for that market.

  3. Enter the API key and secret, and set API_DOMAIN and any required proxy host and port.

  4. Upload the file to /usr/src/ and run cd /usr/src && docker-compose up -d.

  5. Use docker-compose logs -f to view service logs.

Expected outcome

The Compose service is started and its logs can be viewed from the command line.

Guide limitations

  • The README says price precision and minimum quantities vary by trading pair; example settings should not be assumed suitable for every market.
  • The README warns of liquidation risk in extreme futures-market conditions.
  • The guide describes configuration and startup, not verified trading performance.
