Practical overview
When it fits
Use it alongside the book when you want to follow its chapter examples or inspect the accompanying Python source.
Who it is for
- Readers following the accompanying deep-learning book
- Learners who want to examine or run chapter-based Python examples
Documented uses
- Run code examples from a selected book chapter
- Explore shared code and dataset-related source files
- Study examples that include neural-network training
Requirements & limits
The repository is public and its source code is licensed under MIT; the README says it may be used commercially.
- Examples are arranged in ch01 through ch08, with separate common and dataset folders.
- Python 3, NumPy and Matplotlib are listed as prerequisites.
- The README points to the book for code explanations and to an errata page for corrections.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Run a chapter example
Use the repository’s documented method to run an example from a chapter folder.
Before you start
- Python 3
- NumPy
- Matplotlib
- The repository’s chapter code
Steps
Change into a chapter directory, such as ch01.
Run the documented Python file, such as python man.py.
For the ch05 example, change into ch05 and run python train_nueralnet.py.
Expected outcome
The selected chapter example is invoked with Python from its chapter directory.
Guide limitations
- The README refers readers to the book for explanations of the source code.
