Practical overview
When it fits
Consider Dank Mids when a Python/web3.py workflow makes many EVM calls and can use asynchronous access with batched requests.
Who it is for
- Python developers building web3.py applications that make repeated EVM RPC calls.
- Developers writing blockchain-analysis scripts that fetch data at scale.
- eth-brownie users who want to use the documented premade dank_web3 object or example.
Documented uses
- Reduce HTTP requests sent to an EVM node by batching RPC traffic.
- Collect compatible eth_call requests into multicalls.
- Use a synchronous Web3 instance through an asynchronous interface.
- Fetch large volumes of on-chain data for analysis scripts.
Requirements & limits
- The documented primary integration is web3.py; the repository also supplies an eth-brownie example.
- The package wraps a synchronous Web3 instance for async use, so an existing Web3 setup is part of the example workflow.
- The README describes multicalls for compatible eth_call requests and JSON-RPC batching for other calls.
- The repository declares an MIT license.
- The README describes Ape support as forthcoming rather than documenting an available integration.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Install Dank Mids and wrap a Web3 instance for async calls
Add the documented asynchronous Dank Mids interface to an existing web3.py workflow.
Before you start
- Python and an existing synchronous Web3 instance named w3.
- pip for installation.
Steps
Install the package with pip install dank-mids.
Import setup_dank_w3_from_sync from dank_mids.helpers.
Wrap the existing instance with dank_web3 = setup_dank_w3_from_sync(w3).
Make an asynchronous Web3 call, such as awaiting dank_web3.eth.get_block(123).
Expected outcome
The synchronous Web3 instance is wrapped for async use, and the example performs an awaited block lookup through dank_web3.
Guide limitations
- The example assumes an existing Web3 instance; node configuration is not covered by these steps.
- The documented example shows an awaited call, not a complete application or deployment workflow.
