Practical overview
When it fits
Use the repository when developing or adapting an OpenBook interface, particularly when charting is part of the frontend. For local development, follow its documented dependency, chart-library, environment configuration and server-start steps.
Who it is for
- Developers building or adapting a Solana DEX interface for OpenBook markets.
- People seeking a graphical interface for OpenBook spot-market trading.
Documented uses
- Build or adapt a web trading interface for OpenBook markets on Solana.
- Add TradingView charting to an OpenBook frontend.
- Use the included CoinGecko simple-chart fallback for market price charts.
Requirements & limits
- The project is an interface example; the README distinguishes it from management of the OpenBook protocol or its smart-contract deployments.
- TradingView charting requires chart library and datafeed folders, and public use may require preparing compatible OHLCV data.
- The CoinGecko simple chart can be selected as a fallback and configured as the default.
- The documented local setup uses Node.js and npm or yarn.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Set up the interface for local development
Prepare the OpenBook UI example and start its development server.
Before you start
- Node.js
- npm or yarn
- TradingView chart library and datafeed folders
- A Solana RPC endpoint and a TradingView data-feed endpoint for the listed configuration
Steps
Clone the repository and navigate to its source directory.
Install dependencies with npm ci or yarn.
Copy the charting_library and datafeed folders into public/static.
Create an .env.local file with the documented RPC, data-feed and display settings.
Start the development server with npm run dev or yarn dev.
Expected outcome
The project’s development server is started with the configured interface.
Guide limitations
- This setup guide does not establish that a particular environment or configuration will work.
- A public TradingView deployment may require the operator to convert on-chain data to compatible OHLCV data.
- The README does not specify the contents or licensing terms of the TradingView library folders.
