Practical overview
When it fits
Use ClaraVerse when self-hosting and connecting your own model providers are important, especially if you also want agent teams, memory or visual workflows alongside chat.
Who it is for
- People who want to run an AI workspace on infrastructure they control.
- Users who want one interface for chat, agent collaboration and visual workflows.
- Users of local models through Ollama or LM Studio, as well as hosted model providers.
Documented uses
- Chat with hosted or locally running language models.
- Assign work to multi-agent teams and review their work.
- Build workflows in a visual builder.
- Use remembered information across conversations, with visible and editable memory entries.
- Connect Telegram integration within the workspace.
Requirements & limits
The repository documents a Docker Compose deployment and a Linux/macOS command-line installer. Its quick start says the first user to register becomes administrator. The repository identifies the project as AGPL-3.0.
- The advanced Docker setup lists Docker Compose v2+, 4 GB RAM minimum and 8 GB recommended.
- The documentation describes automatic discovery of Ollama and LM Studio; Ollama must be reachable from the Docker container.
- Single-container mode lacks the Qdrant and embeddings sidecar required for Knowledge bases and RAG; the repository points to Docker Compose for the full stack.
- The README says chats are stored locally by default and describes optional encrypted sync across machines.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Start ClaraVerse with Docker Compose
Set up the documented local Docker Compose deployment and open the workspace.
Before you start
- Docker and Docker Compose v2+
- At least 4 GB RAM; 8 GB recommended
- Ollama, LM Studio, or an OpenAI-compatible API to connect a model
Steps
Clone the ClaraVerse repository.
Change into the ClaraVerse directory.
Start the production stack with the command below.
docker compose -f docker-compose.production.yml up -dOpen
http://localhost:3000and register; the first registered user becomes the administrator.
Expected outcome
The locally hosted ClaraVerse workspace is available at `http://localhost:3000`.
Guide limitations
- For Ollama running on the host, the documentation says to make it listen on
0.0.0.0so the Docker container can reach it. - The repository specifies Qdrant and an embeddings sidecar for Knowledge bases and RAG; its single-container mode does not provide these supporting services.
