Practical overview
When it fits
Use the archive when investigating historical trading activity, execution sequences or wallet changes. Check the README’s file roles and timestamp caveats before combining records into a reconstructed account timeline.
Who it is for
- Researchers studying historical discretionary BTC trading and risk management.
- Analysts building visualizations or notebooks from order, execution and wallet records.
- Readers who want to inspect a timestamped trading ledger rather than rely on retrospective summaries.
Documented uses
- Compare order intent with recorded executions.
- Trace wallet events and balance-affecting activity over time.
- Study order lifecycle events where available.
- Build historical visualizations or reproducible analysis using the included records and reference data.
Requirements & limits
The archive is available as a public GitHub repository. The README also points to GitHub Releases for downloadable ZIP or tar.gz packages.
- The archive spans May 2020 through July 2026; the final refresh is dated September 2026.
- The primary execution ledger and broader execution-events file serve different purposes; available lifecycle events are not guaranteed to form a complete historical log.
- Terminal position, wallet and margin snapshots were read sequentially, not atomically.
- The README frames the data for long-horizon discretionary trading analysis, not high-frequency microstructure or millisecond price-prediction work.
- The latest adjusted wallet-equivalent wealth figure is not a marked-to-market wealth calculation.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Inspect historical BTC orders and executions in the repository
Use the public ledger files to review recorded trading activity and compare orders with execution records.
Before you start
- Access to the public GitHub repository or its Releases page.
- For a one-click download, use a tagged
.zipor.tar.gzarchive from Releases; alternatively, clone the repository.
Steps
Open the repository README and choose either the repository or its Releases page.
Download a tagged archive from Releases, or clone the full Git history.
Inspect
api-v1-order.csvfor order intent and the latest returned state per order.Inspect
api-v1-execution-tradeHistory.csvfor the primary execution ledger; consultapi-v1-execution.csvfor returned execution events and available order-lifecycle changes.
Expected outcome
A local copy of the historical ledger is available for inspection of orders and executions.
Guide limitations
- The archive is a historical dataset, not a trading interface.
- The execution event file is not a guaranteed complete historical lifecycle log.
- The final archive snapshot is dated 2026-09-11; later activity is not included.
- The README says this dataset is not intended for HFT, order-book microstructure, or millisecond price-prediction work.
