Understand the project

Practical overview

When it fits

Use it when a C#/.NET application needs a typed client layer for Binance REST or WebSocket APIs, rather than a standalone exchange interface.

Who it is for

  • C# and .NET developers integrating Binance API operations into software
  • Teams building market-data monitors, trading bots or exchange dashboards

Documented uses

  • Retrieve Binance ticker and other exchange data through REST calls
  • Subscribe to WebSocket ticker updates
  • Submit supported spot or futures operations from an application
  • Use shared exchange interfaces for common data and trading workflows

Requirements & limits

The repository is public and identifies the project as MIT-licensed. Package installation is documented through NuGet.

  • The library targets .NET Standard 2.0 and 2.1 and documents support for multiple .NET implementations.
  • Examples distinguish public ticker requests and subscriptions from authenticated order placement, which configures Binance API credentials.
  • Documented features include client-side rate limiting, a client-side order book and automatic WebSocket reconnection management.
  • The project documents support for Binance.com, Binance.US and testnet environments.

Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

Source-based practical guide

Subscribe to spot ticker updates

Use Binance.Net's WebSocket client to receive ETH/USDT ticker updates.

Before you start

  • A .NET project with Binance.Net installed.

Steps

  1. Create a BinanceSocketClient.

  2. Call SpotApi.ExchangeData.SubscribeToTickerUpdatesAsync("ETHUSDT", ...) with a callback.

  3. Read update.Data.LastPrice from each callback update.

Expected outcome

The callback receives ETH/USDT ticker updates and reads each update's last price.

Guide limitations

  • The example does not show subscription disposal, error handling, or application lifetime management.
