Practical overview
When it fits
Use Arkadiko when you want to explore collateral-backed USDA borrowing on Stacks and can assess the applicable collateral parameters, fees and liquidation threshold.
Who it is for
- Stacks users seeking to borrow USDA against token collateral.
- USDA holders interested in the documented redemption mechanism.
- DIKO holders who want to participate in DAO voting or staking.
Documented uses
- Lock collateral in a vault and mint USDA debt.
- Adjust a vault’s collateral or debt, or close the vault.
- Review how collateral-specific fees and liquidation thresholds affect a borrowing position.
- Use the described USDA redemption, liquidation-pool staking or DIKO governance mechanisms.
Requirements & limits
- Vaults are over-collateralized, and each collateral token has its own risk parameters.
- A vault may face liquidation if its collateral-to-debt ratio falls below its threshold; the repository also describes a liquidation penalty.
- Stability fees may be charged on outstanding debt, and minting fees may apply when minting additional USDA.
- The public GitHub repository lists a GPL-3.0 license and TypeScript as its primary language.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Mint USDA by opening a collateral vault
Lock collateral in an Arkadiko vault and incur USDA debt.
Before you start
- Access to the Stacks network and collateral accepted for a vault.
- A wallet; the README describes one vault per wallet for each collateral token.
Steps
Choose the collateral token and specify the quantity to lock in a vault.
Specify the amount of USDA debt to incur.
Maintain the vault above its collateral liquidation threshold; collateral and debt can be adjusted later, or the vault can be closed.
Expected outcome
The vault locks collateral and mints USDA while retaining exposure to the collateral.
Guide limitations
- Vaults must remain over-collateralized; falling below the liquidation threshold can trigger liquidation.
- Collateral tokens have risk parameters, including minimum debt, stability fees, liquidation penalties, and redemption fees.
- The README does not provide interface instructions or transaction-specific steps.
