Practical overview
When it fits
Use the repository when you already work with 3Commas and need a script for a particular reporting, pair-management or deal-management task. Consult the relevant wiki page for the selected script; the README cautions users to test setup and settings with a paper account first.
Who it is for
- 3Commas users looking for Python utilities to support bot and deal workflows.
- Developers assessing scripts for account reporting, bot-pair selection or deal-setting automation.
Documented uses
- Review funds in use and available across connected exchanges, bots and deals with Balance Report.
- Collect market-ranking data and update configured bot pairs using filters.
- Adjust stop-loss, safety-order or take-profit behavior for running deals.
- Compound profits from closed deals according to configured bot settings.
- Send bot deal-start triggers in response to monitored Telegram watchlists.
Requirements & limits
The repository is public and the code is MIT-licensed.
- Scripts serve distinct purposes; select by task and consult the corresponding wiki documentation.
- AltRank, GalaxyScore, CoinMarketCap and BotAssistExplorer standalone pair-changing scripts are marked no longer maintained; the README recommends MarketCollector and BotUpdater instead.
- The Watchlist scripts monitor specified Telegram channels and send deal-start triggers to linked bots.
- The README advises paper-account testing and provides an “as is” software disclaimer.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Install and initialize a 3Commas bot helper
Install the helper scripts and create an initial configuration file for a selected helper.
Before you start
- Python 3.7 or higher
- Git, or the ability to download and unpack a release archive
Steps
Download and unpack a release archive, or install Git and clone the repository.
From the repository directory, install the dependencies with the command below.
pip3 install -r requirements.txtRun the chosen helper once; the README gives the command below as an example that creates a helper-named
.inifile.python3 ./altrank.pyEdit the generated configuration file, then start the helper again to use it.
Expected outcome
The helper dependencies are installed and an initial `.ini` configuration file is created and edited for the selected helper.
Guide limitations
- This guide covers setup and configuration only; it does not establish that a helper will run successfully for a particular account or workflow.
- For 3Commas-connected helpers, the README specifies API permissions BotsRead, BotsWrite, and AccountsRead; it advises testing setup and settings with a paper account first.
- AltRank and GalaxyScore require LunarCrush data; the README notes that LunarCrush API calls are not free.
