Practical overview
When it fits
Use it when you want to work directly with TypeScript scripts for token metadata upload and minting, and can manage the local configuration and wallet credentials.
Who it is for
- Developers who want a script-based workflow for creating and minting a Solana token.
- Users who can configure a wallet, RPC endpoint, token metadata and image in a local project.
Documented uses
- Set token name, symbol, social URLs and description in project configuration.
- Upload token metadata off-chain and add its URI to the token configuration.
- Mint tokens to a wallet and revoke mint and freeze authorities.
- Prepare the documented prerequisites for a devnet or mainnet-beta workflow.
Requirements & limits
The repository is public. The README describes market-ID, liquidity-pool and token-burn scripts as available only to premium users.
- The workflow requires local setup, a wallet secret key and an RPC endpoint.
- Metadata upload uses an NFT Storage API key in the documented setup.
- The default network is devnet; mainnet-beta requires changing constants.ts.
- The mint script revokes mint and freeze authority.
- Market-ID, liquidity-pool and token-burn scripts are identified as premium-only.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Prepare and mint a Solana token
Configure token details, upload off-chain metadata and run the documented mint script.
Before you start
- Node.js package installation via npm
- A wallet keypair and its secret key for WALLET_SECRET_KEY in .env
- An RPC provider endpoint set as RPC_ENDPOINT
- An NFT Storage API key in NFT_STORAGE_API_KEY for metadata upload
- Token details in constants.ts and a JPEG or PNG logo image
Steps
Install dependencies with npm install, copy .env.example to .env, and enter the wallet secret and RPC endpoint.
Add an NFT Storage API key to .env, configure the network and token_info in constants.ts, and place the logo image at the configured path.
Run npm run upload-metadata, then add the resulting URI to token_info.
Run npm run mint and check the wallet for the new tokens.
Expected outcome
The documented workflow uploads off-chain metadata and mints tokens to the configured wallet; the mint script also revokes mint and freeze authority.
Guide limitations
- The repository defaults to devnet; the README says to change the network in constants.ts to mainnet-beta for a live token.
- The README advises against using the default Solana RPC endpoint in production.
- The project labels the code educational and provides no guarantee of profit.
- Market-ID, liquidity-pool and token-burn scripts are described as premium-only.
