Practical overview
When it fits
Use Delphereum when developing in Delphi and an application needs to communicate with Ethereum or an EVM-compatible network.
Who it is for
- Delphi developers adding Ethereum or EVM-compatible network features to native applications.
- Teams building Delphi software that needs to submit transactions, work with smart contracts or read blockchain data.
Documented uses
- Build a native Delphi application that sends blockchain transactions.
- Add smart-contract interaction to a Delphi dapp.
- Read blockchain data from an application.
Requirements & limits
- Compilation requires four companion repositories and their source directories in the Delphi search path.
- The README lists no runtime dependencies, while documenting dependencies needed to compile the project.
- The project describes broad EVM-compatible network support and names Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Gnosis Chain, BNB Chain, Sonic and PulseChain.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Configure Delphi search paths for Delphereum
Prepare a Delphi project to compile Delphereum with its documented source dependencies.
Before you start
- A Delphi development environment.
- A project directory in which Delphereum and its dependencies can be placed.
Steps
Clone the DelphiBigNumbers, SimpleBaseLib4Pascal, HashLib4Pascal, and CryptoLib4Pascal repositories.
Place the repositories alongside the Delphereum directory in the project layout described in the README.
Add the dependency source directories and Delphereum directory to the Delphi search path, using the README’s example path list as a reference.
Expected outcome
The Delphi project has the documented dependency repositories and search-path entries needed before compiling Delphereum.
Guide limitations
- The README documents preparation for compilation, not compilation or application execution.
- The example search path assumes the directory layout shown in the README.
