Anyloom Anythingllm Local AI Agentic Dytopo Swarm

AnyLoom is a self-hosted AI assistant stack that connects a Qwen3 model served by llama.cpp, BGE-M3 embeddings, Qdrant hybrid retrieval, AnythingLLM chat and document management, and a Python DyTopo multi-agent orchestrator.

Understand the project

Practical overview

When it fits

Use it when you want a self-hosted chat and document-Q&A workflow that combines local inference with hybrid retrieval and multi-agent coordination, and you have the GPU and storage capacity for the stack.

Who it is for

  • People who want to ask questions about documents through a locally hosted chat interface.
  • Engineers working with proprietary codebases or researchers handling sensitive documents.
  • Developers building local workflows that use agent coordination, retrieval and MCP tools.

Documented uses

  • Chat with a locally hosted language model through AnythingLLM.
  • Search and ask questions about indexed documents using dense and sparse retrieval.
  • Route complex tasks among specialized agents with optional retrieval context.
  • Use MCP services described by the repository for memory, web search, file operations and diagnostics.

Requirements & limits

The repository is public and licensed under MIT. The documented primary workflow is self-hosted with Docker; the README describes local hardware requirements and provides a browser-based AnythingLLM setup.

  • The stack requires substantial local resources: about 100 GB of disk, an NVIDIA GPU and a compatible driver.
  • The full 131K context is recommended for 32 GB of GPU VRAM; the README says 24 GB GPUs can run with reduced context.
  • The workflow combines containerized services with native Python orchestration and scripts.
  • The documented model downloads include a roughly 18.6 GB Qwen GGUF and a roughly 605 MB BGE-M3 GGUF.

Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

Source-based practical guide

Set up the local assistant stack

Download the documented model files, start the Docker services and configure an AnythingLLM workspace.

Before you start

  • Docker Desktop 24.0 or later with WSL2 integration and GPU support
  • NVIDIA GPU and driver 535 or later; 32 GB VRAM recommended for the full context, with reduced context supported on 24 GB GPUs
  • Python 3.10 or later for scripts
  • About 100 GB of disk space

Steps

  1. Clone the repository and download the Qwen3-30B-A3B GGUF and BGE-M3 embedding GGUF files into the models directory using the documented Hugging Face CLI commands.

  2. Start the services with the command below, or create the documented Docker volumes and run the command below.

    Documented command
    bash scripts/docker_start.sh
    Documented command
    docker compose up -d
  3. Open http://localhost:3001 and complete the AnythingLLM initial setup wizard.

  4. Run the command below to configure AnythingLLM and create and populate the AnyLoom workspace.

    Documented command
    python scripts/configure_anythingllm.py

Expected outcome

A configured local AnythingLLM workspace connected to the stack’s local model and retrieval services, with the supplied RAG reference documents embedded.

Guide limitations

  • The documented full-context setup recommends 32 GB of GPU VRAM; 24 GB GPUs require a reduced context.
  • The README estimates about two minutes for model loading and an additional one to two minutes for the first query’s prompt-cache warm-up.
