Practical overview
When it fits
Use it when you want a self-hosted Binance trading application with configurable indicators, database persistence and Telegram controls, and can manage its deployment and configuration.
Who it is for
- Operators who want to configure and run a self-hosted Binance trading bot.
- Developers interested in adapting trading thresholds or implementing an additional exchange integration.
Documented uses
- Configure buy, sell and hold thresholds based on Bollinger analysis, RSI, MACD and market-volume direction.
- Run the application in dry-run or Binance TestNet mode while examining its behavior.
- Control the bot and receive issue alerts through Telegram.
- View session configuration and exchange data in a browser.
Requirements & limits
The project is public and open source under the MIT license. Its README describes a Docker container set for Linux AMD64 and ARMv7.
- Binance is the only currently supported exchange; other exchange support requires implementation and testing.
- MySQL is required to persist data and transactions.
- The README describes both dry-run and Binance TestNet modes for testing.
- The browser session page uses an HTTP port, starting at 8080 by default, with an environment variable available to set the port.
- The Telegram bot supports /stop, /sell, /buy and /report commands and issue alerts.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Configure CryptoPump for a dry-run or TestNet trial
Prepare the documented safer testing modes before considering live trading.
Before you start
- CryptoPump source or Docker container set for Linux/amd64 or Linux/arm/v7.
- MySQL for persisting data and transactions; the repository includes a schema file at MySQL/cryptopump.sql.
- Binances API support; CryptoPump currently supports Binance only.
Steps
Set up MySQL and create its database structure using the repository’s MySQL/cryptopump.sql file.
Configure the database connection using DB_USER, DB_PASS, DB_TCP_HOST, DB_PORT, and DB_NAME, or the environment settings in launch.json when using Visual Studio Code.
Configure CryptoPump to use DryRun mode or Binance TestNet before trading.
Review the session configuration and Bollinger and exchange data in a browser at the instance’s HTTP port, which starts at 8080 unless PORT is defined.
Expected outcome
A configured instance can be reviewed in its browser page while using a documented non-live testing mode.
Guide limitations
- The documentation does not provide the exact configuration values or startup commands for selecting DryRun or TestNet.
- Current exchange support is Binance only.
- The project warns that trading carries risk and recommends testing before engaging funds.
