Practical overview
When it fits
Use it for a compact, physical market-data display when you have M5Stack hardware and want to monitor Binance pairs over Wi-Fi.
Who it is for
- M5Stack owners who want a dedicated screen for Binance market data.
- People monitoring a selected set of cryptocurrency pairs and chart intervals.
Documented uses
- View prices and 24 candlesticks for selected Binance pairs on an M5Stack display.
- Switch between saved pairs or rotate through them at a set interval.
- Change the chart timeframe, with choices ranging from one minute to one month.
- Show optional temperature and humidity readings when a compatible room sensor is detected.
Requirements & limits
The project is available as a public GitHub repository and declares the Unlicense. Its documented application targets M5Stack hardware and uses Arduino IDE 1.8.14 for development.
- Requires M5Stack hardware, Wi-Fi credentials and an SD card containing ccticker.cfg for the documented SD-card version.
- Market data comes from Binance API and WebSocket endpoints; displayed pairs must be available on Binance.
- The display includes 24 candles and offers nine timeframes, from one minute to one month.
- Temperature and humidity readings are optional and depend on a detected room sensor; the project cautions that device heat can affect temperature readings.
- The README documents English, German and Spanish language settings.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Prepare the SD-card configuration
Set up the Wi-Fi and display preferences the ticker reads from its SD card.
Before you start
- An M5Stack device and SD card.
- A text configuration file named ccticker.cfg in the root of the SD card.
Steps
Put ccticker.cfg in the root of the SD card.
Use the configuration file to provide Wi-Fi credentials, preferred coin pairs, timezone and language.
Insert the card and start the application; its settings are also retained in internal memory after a reset.
Expected outcome
The application has the configuration it requires to connect over Wi-Fi and show the selected market pairs and display preferences.
Guide limitations
- The README refers to a separate installation description but does not provide the configuration file’s exact syntax in the documented material.
- The app receives its market data from Binance endpoints.
