Practical overview
When it fits
Use Nitrolite when developing a prototype that needs state-channel concepts such as funded channels, signed off-chain updates, checkpoints, or channel closure.
Who it is for
- Developers prototyping applications that use state channels.
- Backend and CLI developers looking for a Go SDK.
- Web and mobile developers looking for a TypeScript SDK.
Documented uses
- Prototype application workflows using off-chain state updates between channel participants.
- Build backend, CLI, web, or mobile clients with the Go or TypeScript SDK.
- Manage channel interactions through Cerebro and Nitronode.
Requirements & limits
The repository is public, open source, and licensed under MIT.
- The framework documents Ethereum and other EVM-compatible chains; Nitronode names Polygon, Celo, and Base as supported connections.
- Nitronode lists SQLite and PostgreSQL storage options.
- Go and TypeScript SDKs serve different client-development contexts.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Install a Nitrolite SDK

Before you start
- A Go project to use the Go SDK, or a Node.js project to use the TypeScript SDK.
Steps
