Who it is for
- People who want to create AI-generated song drafts from their own style descriptions and lyrics.
- Users who prefer a local music-generation workflow on desktop hardware.
- Music makers who want to compare supported models or experiment with song styles.
Documented uses
- Generate stereo music from a style prompt and lyrics.
- Have Auto-Gen draft a caption, lyrics and title from a selected genre.
- Create a style-matched cover from a reference track or repaint one region with ACE-Step 1.5.
- Train style adapters from a folder of songs using the Training Studio.
Requirements & limits
Portable releases are listed for Windows x64, Linux x64 and macOS Apple Silicon, with build variants depending on platform and hardware. The app requires downloading model files; the README lists the ACE-Step 1.5 Quick Start pack at about 9 GB. The project states that generation runs on local hardware without cloud service, API keys or a subscription.
- Select a build suited to the machine: the README lists CUDA, Vulkan, ROCm or CPU variants across platforms, and Metal for Apple Silicon.
- The project warns that CPU generation is much slower than generation using a usable GPU.
- Model Manager handles model downloads, and the first-run Quick Start pack is about 9 GB.
- Training Studio supports style adapters for all three backends but is described as experimental and GPU-hungry.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
