Practical overview
When it fits
Use the SDK when implementing ERC-5564 or ERC-6538 stealth-address workflows in a TypeScript Ethereum application, especially when the application needs both address-generation utilities and announcement handling.
Who it is for
- TypeScript developers adding stealth-address functions to Ethereum applications.
- Teams building workflows to retrieve or monitor stealth announcements and identify those intended for a user.
- Developers integrating stealth meta-address lookup or registration payload preparation.
Documented uses
- Generate a stealth address from a stealth meta-address URI.
- Compute a recipient's stealth private key from recipient keys and announcement data.
- Check whether an announcement is intended for a specific user.
- Fetch or watch announcements and prepare payloads for announcing stealth details or registering a meta-address.
Requirements & limits
The project is an open-source public GitHub repository with an MIT license.
- The SDK is a developer integration library, not a standalone wallet or transaction interface.
- The README documents scheme ID 1 as currently supported.
- Announcement retrieval can use an RPC-backed client or a subgraph pagination function.
- The example warns that querying from block 0 may be slow across many blocks.
Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
Add stealth-address generation to a TypeScript project
Install the SDK and generate an Ethereum stealth address from a stealth meta-address URI.
Before you start
- A TypeScript project using npm, Yarn or Bun.
- A stealth meta-address URI in the documented st:: format.
Steps
Install @scopelift/stealth-address-sdk using npm, Yarn or Bun.
Import generateStealthAddress from the package.
Pass the stealth meta-address URI to generateStealthAddress and use the returned stealthAddress.
Expected outcome
The SDK returns a generated stealth address using its documented default scheme, scheme 1.
Guide limitations
- The documented quick start demonstrates scheme 1.
- This guide covers address generation, not sending or settling a transaction.
Retrieve and filter stealth announcements for a user
Fetch ERC-5564 announcements from a configured chain and check which are associated with a user.
Before you start
- The SDK installed in a TypeScript project.
- A chain ID, an RPC URL for that chain, an ERC-5564 announcer contract address, and a starting block.
- The user's spending public key and viewing private key.
Steps
Create a stealth client with the chain ID and RPC URL.
Call getAnnouncements with the announcer address, scheme ID, caller where applicable, and fromBlock.
Pass the returned announcements and the user's spending public key and viewing private key to getAnnouncementsForUser.
Expected outcome
The SDK returns announcements identified for the user from the fetched set.
Guide limitations
- The README notes that fromBlock defaults to 0, which can be slow across many blocks.
- The example uses scheme ID 1 and requires chain-appropriate RPC and contract details.
