Tradecat Public

Tradecat Public is a Python-based paper-trading runtime for agents such as Hermes. It reads public spreadsheet signals, supports market-context enrichment with bundled Binance public-read-only snapshots and tools, and handles schema checks, signal alignment, paper/watch execution, risk refusals, ledgers and audit reports. It does not include a live-order executor.

Understand the project

Practical overview

When it fits

Use it to evaluate agent trade ideas against public market data in a paper-only workflow, especially when structured records and explicit risk refusals matter.

Who it is for

  • Developers integrating agent-generated crypto trade theses into a simulated workflow.
  • Agent operators who need structured risk checks and reproducible paper-trading records.

Documented uses

  • Read the public spreadsheet's signal_flow and anomaly_panel datasets.
  • Enrich a signal with public Binance market context before evaluating its thesis.
  • Validate structured inputs and run paper/watch cycles with risk gates.
  • Review paper ledgers, cycle archives, audit journals and operational reports.

Requirements & limits

The repository requires Python 3.12 or later and pip. Its README says the local CLI use channel is currently unavailable and directs users to a web spreadsheet. Local paper loops and the web monitor must be started explicitly.

  • Signals come from a public online spreadsheet; market context can be supplemented using bundled Binance public-read-only snapshots and tools.
  • Sizing and exit parameters must be explicit in the agent thesis or a paper-only runtime profile; missing required values trigger fail-closed behavior.
  • The documented scope excludes Binance credentials, signed/private endpoints and real orders.
  • The repository is MIT-licensed and includes an embedded TradeCat skill package for Agent/Hermes.

Guide limitations

  • The README says the local CLI usage channel is currently unavailable and directs users to the web spreadsheet.
