Requirements & limits
Kelivo is listed for Android, iOS, macOS, Windows and Linux. Project requirements are Android 7.0 or later, iOS 15.0 or later, macOS 11.0 or later on Apple silicon or Intel, Windows 10 or 11, and x86_64 Linux. - Model access depends on credentials or sign-in for a provider; Kelivo is the client rather than the provider account itself.
- Workspace file and command capabilities require additional environment setup on Android; the iOS environment is bundled with the app.
- The project says conversations, settings and files are stored locally and offers optional WebDAV or S3-compatible backup.
- The source repository identifies Flutter and Dart as the application stack and AGPL-3.0 as its license.

Connect a model provider and start a chat
Set up a provider connection and begin a conversation in Kelivo.
Before you start
- Kelivo installed on a supported platform.
- An API key for a preset provider or a custom endpoint, or sign-in access to a supported ChatGPT, Grok or Kimi Code account.
Steps
Open Settings → Providers and enter an API key for a preset provider or add a custom endpoint, then fetch its model list.
For a supported account instead, use the Accounts tab under Add Provider to sign in.
Select a model from the chat input bar and start a conversation.
Expected outcome
A conversation can be started with a model available through the selected provider or account.
Guide limitations
- Provider access requires the relevant API key or supported account sign-in.
- This guide covers basic chat setup; it does not configure workspace file or command access.
Prepare a workspace for file and command tasks
Create a workspace and bind it to a conversation for model work with files.
Before you start
- Kelivo installed.
- On Android, a Linux environment installed through Settings → Workspace & environment; the project says the iOS environment is bundled with the app.
Steps
Open Settings → Workspace & environment and create a workspace.
On Android, install the Linux environment from the same settings page first.
Bind the workspace to a conversation from the chat.
Expected outcome
The conversation is associated with a workspace that can support model access to files and commands.
Guide limitations
- The repository describes workspace access as using a Linux sandbox on phones and a native shell on computers.
- These setup steps do not specify individual permission controls or command behavior.
