Requirements & limits

The repository describes Cashu.me as free and open-source under the MIT license. It is documented for web/PWA use, Android and iOS through Capacitor, desktop through Electron, and browser-extension packaging. Local development requires Node.js >= 22.4 and npm.

  • Wallet keys and tokens are stored locally in browser IndexedDB, according to the project README.
  • On-chain deposits and withdrawals depend on support from the connected mint.
  • The application can connect to multiple mints and supports NUT-15 multinut payments.
  • Self-hosting requires Docker for the documented quick start; reverse-proxy hosting needs SPA fallback and service-worker headers.
  • The repository is TypeScript-based and provides Vitest, Playwright, ESLint and Prettier commands for development workflows.

Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.
