Laravel Pay Pocket

Understand the project

Practical overview

When it fits

Use it when a Laravel application needs internal virtual-money or multi-wallet mechanics, including payment allocation across wallet types. The repository explicitly separates this function from processing payments through external payment platforms.

Who it is for

  • Laravel developers building application-managed balances.
  • Teams implementing virtual deposits, withdrawals or purchases.
  • Developers who need multiple wallet sources for order payments.
  • Projects that need wallet operation logs and transaction notes.

Documented uses

  • Add multiple wallet balances to a Laravel application.
  • Accept application-level deposits and perform withdrawals.
  • Pay for orders using one or more prioritised wallet balances.
  • Record wallet and payment operations in dedicated tables.

Requirements & limits

The repository is public and identifies the package as MIT-licensed. Installation is documented through Composer. Package version 2.x supports Laravel 10, 11 and 12; PHP 8.1+ is listed for the package, while the Laravel application determines its own minimum PHP version.

  • The package manages virtual money inside the application rather than external payment-platform transactions.
  • Wallet priority is controlled by the order of cases in the published enum.
  • Installation creates dedicated wallets and wallets_logs tables without modifying the users table.
  • The User model must implement WalletOperations and use ManagesWallet.
  • Version 2.x adds migration and configuration support for transaction notes.

Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

Source-based practical guide

Install and prepare Laravel Pay Pocket

Add the package’s wallet tables, configuration and wallet definitions to a Laravel application.

Before you start

  • A Laravel 10, 11 or 12 application.
  • PHP 8.1 or newer as listed for package version 2.x.
  • Composer.
  • A User model that can be updated to implement WalletOperations and use ManagesWallet.

Steps

  1. Run composer require hpwebdeveloper/laravel-pay-pocket.

  2. Publish the pay-pocket migrations and run php artisan migrate.

  3. Publish the pay-pocket-wallets and config resources.

  4. Update the User model to implement WalletOperations and use the ManagesWallet trait.

Expected outcome

The application has the package’s wallets and wallets_logs tables, published wallet definitions and configuration, and a prepared User model.

Guide limitations

  • This setup does not connect the application to an external payment platform.
  • The repository documents preparation and installation, but this recipe does not verify a live application run.
