Requirements & limits

The public repository is accessible and identified as GPL-3.0 licensed. The repository describes a historical open-source snapshot; current production source coverage is not represented by that snapshot.

  • The repository is a historical snapshot, so its implementation may differ from the current production application.
  • The documented stack combines TypeScript, React, Next.js, GraphQL, Lens Protocol, Wagmi and Viem with PostgreSQL and Node.js tooling.
  • Local development requires Node.js 22 or later, pnpm, PostgreSQL and Git.
  • Environment configuration may involve Lens, database, Redis, API, wallet, storage and application settings.
  • Current third-party infrastructure may require adaptation before the codebase can support further deployment work.

Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

Source-based practical guide

Set up the historical Hey.xyz codebase locally

Prepare the documented repository for local development.

Before you start

  • Git
  • Node.js v22 or later
  • pnpm
  • PostgreSQL
  • A local copy of the public repository

Steps

  1. Clone the repository and enter its directory.

  2. Install the required dependencies with pnpm.

  3. Copy provided .env.example files to .env where applicable and configure the required services.

  4. Start the development environment with the repository's pnpm development command.

Expected outcome

The historical codebase is prepared for local development and provides a local URL when the development server starts.

Guide limitations

  • The repository is a historical snapshot and may require changes to work with current Lens, GraphQL, RPC, authentication, storage, database and blockchain services.
  • Local setup does not establish compatibility with the current Hey.xyz production implementation.
