Understand the project

Practical overview

When it fits

Use it when a Unity project needs Solana capabilities through C# and can benefit from its existing wallet, RPC, NFT, token, transaction and DEX integrations.

Who it is for

  • Unity developers building Solana-enabled games
  • C# developers integrating Solana RPC, wallets or transactions into Unity
  • Teams creating Unity NFT, token or marketplace features

Documented uses

  • Access Solana RPC methods from Unity.
  • Set up an in-game non-custodial wallet.
  • Encode, decode and submit blockchain transactions.
  • Transfer SPL tokens and provision associated token accounts.
  • Add NFT and native DEX functionality to a Unity application.

Requirements & limits

The repository is public, open source and MIT-licensed. The README documents installation through Unity Package Manager or availability through the Unity Asset Store.

  • The SDK is built for Unity and uses C#/.NET Standard 2.0.
  • It provides full JSON RPC coverage alongside wallet, token, NFT and transaction utilities.
  • Wallet integrations documented in the README include Phantom and Web3Auth.
  • Android projects require the Custom Main Gradle Template for the documented dependency handling.
  • The SDK includes Solana Mobile Stack support and WebSocket event functionality.

Check current requirements in the official documentation. Source-based guidance does not mean OpenViST has run or independently tested this project.

Source-based practical guide

Install Solana.unity SDK and configure a wallet scene

Add the SDK from Git and configure its documented sample wallet scene in Unity.

Before you start

  • A Unity project with Unity Package Manager.
  • The Git repository URL: https://github.com/magicblock-labs/Solana.Unity-SDK.git
  • If using an older Unity version without imported Newtonsoft.Json, import it first.

Steps

  1. Open Unity Package Manager, choose Add package from git URL, enter https://github.com/magicblock-labs/Solana.Unity-SDK.git, and click Add.

  2. After installation, open the Package Manager inspector and import the Samples.

  3. Create a new scene and import the WalletController prefab.

  4. Set the RPC Cluster on the SimpleWallet script in the WalletController prefab to Mainnet, Testnet, Devnet or a custom URI.

  5. Create a Canvas and import WalletHolder into it, or import and customise the wallet prefab.

Expected outcome

A Unity scene containing the SDK wallet controller and wallet UI components, configured with an RPC cluster.

Guide limitations

  • For a custom URI, the README specifies WS/WSS rather than HTTP/HTTPS because WebSocket does not work with HTTP or HTTPS.
  • The documented steps configure the scene but do not describe a complete transaction flow.

Prepare an Android Unity build

Enable the documented Gradle setting needed to address Android dependency conflicts.

Before you start

  • A Unity project using the Solana.unity SDK.
  • An Android build target in Unity.

Steps

  1. Open Edit > Project Settings > Player.

  2. Select the Android tab.

  3. Scroll to Publishing Settings.

  4. Enable Custom Main Gradle Template.

Expected outcome

Unity generates Assets/Plugins/Android/mainTemplate.gradle, which the SDK can detect for its documented AndroidX and Guava dependency fixes.

Guide limitations

  • The README describes the configuration requirement but does not document a complete Android build or wallet-connection test.
